Leading the Industry Internet: Nufront EUHT dares to be the first

From 2G, 3G to 4G, the wireless communication is mainly face to the consumer market, such as the consumption of mobile phone. In the era of 5G, the telecommunication giants finally realized the importance of the industrial market and began to study the wireless communication technology with high reliability and low delay.

 

However, it will take a long time from system design, research and development to deployment and application for a new communication technology, especially in the field of industrial wireless communication technology.

 

As a system and chip designer, Nufront independently designed the mobile TV broadcasting system (t-mmb) at the beginning of the establishment of the company, and then successfully mass produced lots kind of SoC, such as WiFi, Bluetooth, GSM/WCDMA, LTE and so on. It can be said that Nufront made almost all kinds of communication chips.

 

The vice president of Nufront, Lei Jun said “ Along with further research work, we found that there are various problems with the existing wireless communication system, such as insufficient support for the ultra high speed mobile equipment and large user’s usage. The founder of the company had deep technical accumulation and keen foresight, so he decided to design a new wireless communication system.”

 

The founder of Nufront is a scientist with strong technical complex, at the beginning of the establishment of the company he put forward to be a pioneer in this filed. In 2006, relying on the profound technology accumulation and keen insight, Nufront began to research and develop EUHT (Enhanced Ultra High Throughput) with high reliability, low latency, ultra-wide band and large capacity.

 

According to the introduction of Lei Jun, the development of EUHT technology was supported by National Science and Technology Major Project. In addition, in the most difficult period, Nufront have also received great help from the government, academicians and experts. Whenever the development entered the bottleneck, the founder of the company would work together with the R&D team to tackle the problem. In this way, the efficiency of Nufront was far higher than that of other companies. After ten years' practice, EUHT finally entered the stage of large-scale commercial application in 2016.

 

Lei Jun said, "The research and development of EUHT is more than 10 years ahead of 5G URLLC , and many core technologies such as key system parameters and self-contained frame structure in EUHT are also used in 5G. It can be said that EUHT is a very forward-looking technology.” More importantly, Nufront has independently designed the full range of EUHT core chips, including digital baseband, analog front-end, radio frequency transceiver and so on. At present, a complete series of products including three generations of chips have been formed.

 

Commercial deployment: EUHT is widely deployed

 

The vice president of Nufront, Yang Li introduced that the EUHT technology is already deployed in intelligent high speed rail, smart metro, intelligent transportation, smart industry and rural broadband wireless coverage. Furthermore, this technology have brought great value to a number of industry partners.

 

In January 2017, EUHT was fully deployed in the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity High-Speed Rail. Since then, the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity High-Speed Rail has become the world's first high-speed railway to utilize ultra-broad band wireless communication to realize passenger Internet services and HD real-time video security monitoring.

 

In December 2017, the EUHT system of Guangzhou Metro Knowledge City branch was put into commercial use. It realized the real-time transmission of 30-channel HD video in single train for the first time in the world, carried 1 PIS service, and reserved the Wi-Fi bandwidth capacity of passengers.

 

It is understood that International Telecommunication Union held the annually World Summit on the Information Society forum from March 19th to March 23rd, with the theme of “ building an information and knowledge society by using information and communication technology, and promoting the realization of sustainable development goals".

 

At this conference, all participants responded strongly to EUHT technology. Technical experts from Britain, Japan, Italy and other countries had in-depth technical discussions with Nufront, and all of them were expected the application of EUHT technology in high-speed railways, metros, intelligent buses and intelligent surveillance in their own countries. Representatives from developing countries expressed keen interest and invited Nufront to join ITU-D, so that developing countries could more efficiently understand, import and apply EUHT technology. Therefore, they could rapidly reduce the information technology gap between developing and developed countries..

 

Independent R&D: Lay out the future of wireless technology

 

In MWC 2018, Nufront introduced the world’s first commercial ultra-wide band(UWB) vehicle-to-ground wireless communications solution. With EUHT as the core, the scheme is characterized by high reliability, high capacity, high speed, low latency, low power consumption, low cost, precise positioning, precise calculation, and precise control, which can meet the requirements of UWB wireless communication transmission in various types of high-speed mobile scenarios, such as high-speed rail, metro and highway.

 

The need for higher reliability and lower latency in industry is endless, so the continuous technological evolution of Nufront will not stop. According to the vice president of Nufront, Lei Jun, Nufront will continue to be committed to high reliability, low latency, low retransmission, high-capacity communications technology, and help to promote the dynamic precise positioning technology, virtual reality technology, imaging navigation technology, 3D map technology. In addition, Nufront will introduce the next generation of EUHT system this year.

 

Facing the future, Nufront will continue to accelerate EUHT technology upgrading to ensure its international leading advantages, and will expand the application of EUHT technology in Internet of vehicles and industrial intelligence. In terms of the Internet of things, Nufront is developing terminal chips with ultra-low power consumption and the sleep awakening technique, so as to achieve the goal of large connection and low power consumption and the goal of 100k+ IoT nodes served by a single communities. EUHT technology is a good reference and support for URLLC which is still not mature, and also a foundation for the next generation of communication technology.
